Enjoy your lessons with a friendly, professional, and highly experienced teacher. A native of Bellevue, Washington Alyssa Saunders is a dedicated pianist, violinist, accompanist, adjudicator, and clinician whose playing is deeply rooted in a tradition of music professionals in her family. As a child, Alyssa would spend hours learning the love of music at the piano and at the violin, learning the beautiful harmonies, melodies and rhythmic cadences between the two.
Alyssa was selected for a premiere apprenticeship under professional violinist Leslie Johnson where she learned the fine art of teaching students of all ages and levels of advancement. Her formal education in pedagogy was a private tutorship with professor Donald Denegar at Bellevue College where Alyssa was inspired to start her first music studio at the age of 16 which grew to over 30 regular students in both violin and piano instruction. |
For over 20 years, Alyssa has inspired her students to play in orchestras, compete in competitions, auditions, compose music, and even become teachers themselves. Her passion is music and encouraging young and old in their music endeavors while helping students overcome technical limitations, improve tone production, maximize arm and hand positions and other components of expressive playing.
Alyssa recently moved to Orting with her husband, four musical daughters and enthusiastically joins this growing music academy.
